Recording Here

I thought I would write a few things about what to expect in the studio, in case it's your first time recording with me.

What you should bring:

All your gear! Bring whatever you would bring to play a show, plus any other instruments you would like to record. Sometimes I have extra drums or amps laying around, but not usually. If you do need something like an amp or cabinet to record with, let me know ahead of time. I can't guarantee that I can find something for you to use, but I can look around.

One thing I understand is that things like new drum heads, guitar strings, bass strings and everything else, costs money. Sometimes it's money you don't have. I will do my best to work with what you have! That being said, what you put in the recording is what comes out. If you have dead drum heads, it's going to sound like dead drum heads. If you have old guitar strings, it's going to sound like it. If your amp has old fried tubes, it's gonna sound like it! I can't tell you how many times I've recorded my own band with crappy old drums and heads, and kicked myself later!

So change your strings, change your heads, and if you can't, don't worry about it! My studio is all about working with what you've got. Sometimes blown out gear sounds awesome!

Studio Hours

Normal studio hours are 10am-6pm for sessions. That's 8 hours. If you would like to work later than that, no problem. I am normally available to record 24 hours a day, and have no problem doing graveyard shift sessions as long as I don't have another session early the next day. We can talk about all this stuff when you book your session.
